CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit) loaded from the memory card · CHDK runs from the card without touching the ROM and adds RAW capture, scripting, motion detection, and manual controls. The A430 port (firmware 1.00b) was a community effort that started in 2009 and landed in the CHDK trunk in 2010. The A430 was not one of the first Canons hacked: CHDK began in 2007 on the PowerShot A610, though the A-series as a family is the heart of the CHDK scene.
