Variants

Models
AGS-001AGS-001Original 2003 release with a front-lit screen: the light sits in front of the LCD, so the picture is still visible but dimmer than later units. No headphone jack; required a bundled adapter.
AGS-101AGS-101Revised 2005 hardware with a true backlit screen, brighter and more color-accurate than the AGS-001. Externally identical; distinguishable mainly by screen brightness and a small AGS-101 marking inside the battery compartment.

AGS-001 units are commonly backlight-modded (swapping in an AGS-101 or aftermarket IPS panel) · Popular because the AGS-001's front light is noticeably dimmer than the AGS-101 backlight.
